'Off to Ripa Island'
This cartoon from the Maoriland Worker newspaper shows passive resisters being marched to Ripapa Island in Lyttleton Harbour.
Unity Congress 1913
Four hundred members of the Unity Congress marched on Parliament after the letter from the young men incarcerated on Ripapa Island was read out to their meeting in July 1913. A deputation from the Congress also had a meeting with the Prime Minister.
